This highly interactive 2.5 hour workshop uses a case study approach to unpack how to support an NDIS participant with an ageing carer at a point of crisis. Attendees will learn to develop effective approaches for responding to tough times like these, including:
➾ How to proactively identify potential risks and barriers
➾ Working with complex family dynamics and maintaining appropriate boundaries
➾ Preparing for a potential crisis and preventative approaches
➾ Coordinating supports in response to a crisis event
➾ Practising effective Support Coordination skills throughout (eg. case noting, billable hours)
➾ Effective strategies to promote wellbeing as a Support Coordinator (eg seeking supervision, debriefing)
Level: Intermediate
This workshop is designed for Support Coordinators who have been in their role for at least 6 months or who have attended DSC’s Support Coordination: 2 Day Intensive.
